As the Sumter School District has upcoming transitions on the schedule, it released a revised date and procedures for meal distribution and curbside pickup on Tuesday.
Meal distribution and curbside pickup will continue from 9 a.m. to noon.
The highlights are as follows:
Today: Meal distribution will include breakfast and lunch for today, Thursday and Friday;
There will be no meal distribution next week, April 5-9, which is spring break for the district;
Monday April 12: Students will receive breakfast and lunch for that day and Tuesday, April 13;
Wednesday April 14: Students will receive meals for that day, Thursday April 15, Friday April 16, Monday April 19 and Tuesday April 20;
From Wednesday April 21: Weekly curbside pickup will only take place on Wednesdays at four locations from 9 a.m. to noon. These sites include Pocalla Springs Elementary School, Hillcrest Middle School, Sumter High School, and Crestwood High School;
– Meals will continue to be delivered by bus to the various community sites every Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
– Only children 18 and under who are in virtual education and home schooling students will be eligible to receive meals from April 21.
– Pupils who follow five days of face-to-face teaching will receive meals every day at the school and will not be able to come and collect their meals every week on Wednesdays.
– Meal cards are required and compulsory to receive meals. Cards with an expiration date greater than one week will not be accepted.
