After two summers without summer camps, parents now have a choice this year. Here are a few:


Code Galaxy offers online courses in graphic design, web development, CAD, Minecraft and more for kids ages 5-17.

Classes are taught by qualified teachers and provide programming skills to elementary and middle school students through interactive projects.

Students get certificates when modules are completed.

Students learn to use Scratch (a coding program with colors and characters), Minecraft, Roblox, Python, and an introduction to 3D CAD modeling.

Meadowbrook Writing Camp at Oakland University is open to children ages 4-18.

Students can explore curated genres of writing under the guidance of instructors.

The camp gives emerging writers a chance to develop their skills as authors, poets and storytellers.

The camp offers half-day and full-day sessions throughout the summer

Notre Dame Preparatory School and the Marist Academy will offer a variety of summer camps.

Choices include a workshop to complete college applications, a speech and debate, drama, college 101, and STEM for young people.

Camps are offered to children entering kindergarten through 12th grade.

Sessions start in June and last all summer. Students do not need to be students at Notre Dame to enroll.

Camp Invention Michigan Summer Programs 2022 Camp Invention offers week-long summer camps for kids interested in STEM and innovation.

Camp Invention offers a variety of programs in Oakland County schools.

This is a non-profit summer enrichment program for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Students can join a rock band at the rock school camp.

Professional musicians lead guitar, drums, vocals, bass and keyboard courses for students aged 7 to 18. They also learn elements of writing and musical composition and can participate in recording sessions in certain camps.

One-week sessions cost $430.
