Lorain County teams see game postponements – Morning Journal


Games around Lorain County have been rescheduled for boys ‘and girls’ basketball for Friday December 17 and Saturday December 18.

Defending the South West Conference champions, Amherst Steele (6-0, 2-0 in SWC) announced on Twitter that his match against SWC opponent Berea-Midpark (3-2, 1-1 in SWC) ) after beating Lorain on Wednesday, December 15.

The game has been rescheduled to be played on Thursday, December 30, three days after facing Elyria Catholic. The tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Lorain’s road game against Maple Heights on Friday, December 17 has also been postponed. The Titans are 2-2 and 1-1 in the Lake Erie League. The makeup date has yet to be decided, but those who purchased tickets will be valid for the makeup game when the date is announced.

Men’s basketball was not the only sport affected by game postponements. In Avon Lake, their women’s basketball team (1-4, 0-3 in SWC) saw their home conference game against Midview (5-1, 3-1 in SWC) postponed after the Middies beat Brunswick 53-38 at home on Wednesday.

These are just a few of the many games in the Cleveland area that have been postponed or canceled such as Shaker Heights and Shaw, and the much-vaunted Brush starting on the road against last year‘s Division I, the Final Four St finalist. Ignatius.
