Waseca, MN (KROC-AM News) – There was a heavy law enforcement response to a school building in Waseca this morning due to a report of gunfire at the facility.
The Waseca Police Department said the report of possible gunshots came from the third floor of the central Waseca Public Schools building around 11 a.m. Shortly after arriving, responding officers were told that a “student behavior problem” was the likely source of the loud noises originally thought to be gunshots. Reports say the student was kicking lockers.
A news release says that, out of an abundance of caution, the building remained locked while officers searched and cleaned it to ensure no one was injured and all students were accounted for. No one was injured and no weapon was found. The green light was given around 11:50 a.m.
