How UH Committed to the High School Football Weekend Opener

A look at how the University of Houston commitments went during the opening weekend of the high school football season:

Klein Forest running back Parker Jenkins had four touchdowns — three rushing and a 64-yard kickoff return — in a 42-21 victory over Alief Taylor.

Ja’Koby Banks took his first catch of the season for 92 yards for a touchdown in fourth-ranked Fort Bend Marshall’s 14-7 win over Klein.

Harker Heights running back Ra’Shaun Sanford had 18 carries for 140 yards in a 33-7 win over Killeen Ellison. Sanford picked up where he left off in 2021 when he rushed for 2,330 yards.

Quarterback Caleb McMickle threw for two touchdowns as Fellow Christian School of Roswell (Ga.) beat Trinity Christian 23-19.

On Thursday, West Orange-Stark defensive back Jamaal Shaw became the Cougars’ 12th commitment for the Class of 2023.
