Five college quarterbacks with the most to prove in 2022

The college football offseason has been marked by quarterbacks from across the country moving through the transfer portal.

Whatever why, these are a handful of transfers who put a ton of pressure on themselves making the move. Not to mention, there are also a handful of returning quarterbacks who have a lot to prove.

In an era where the position is played at the highest level, you only have a limited number of chances to prove you belong before your replacement goes under centre. Playing the quarterback job is stressful enough because it’s arguably the most important job in sports, but when you have a fanbase that in some cases at the college level is an entire state that encourages you, things can get tense quickly. .

There’s nothing worse than losing the support of your fan base like we saw with Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler, and for some players across the country like Stanford’s Tanner McKee, they have to show not only their fan base but the rest of the country that their once high ranking was guaranteed.

While this list could really be anywhere from 20 to 30, I’ve decided to focus on the five quarterbacks in 2022 that I believe have the most to prove based on program expectations, recruiting rankings, or just expectations for this player in general. If your favorite quarterback is included in this ranking, it does not mean that he is not good, but that he has some pressure to prove himself. The same can be said if your favorite quarterback isn’t included, it’s not because he’s not as talented, but quarterbacks like Bryce Young and CJ Stroud have already shown that they are among the best gunslingers in the country.

Let’s take a look at the five quarterbacks with the most to prove in 2022.
