Help locate Kyla Peterson, a runaway at risk due to her age

The Oakland Police Department is asking our community and media partners for help in locating the runaway, Kyla Peterson, who is at risk due to her age.

Peterson is 15 and was last seen on December 16, 2021, around 11:00 p.m., in the 4100 block of Coolidge Avenue.

Peterson’s family say she is in good physical condition, has mental health issues and may be in crisis. She is described as a black female, weighing 100 pounds, measuring 5’2 “, with black hair and brown eyes. Peterson was last seen wearing a blue coat and baggy jeans.

Peterson is known to frequent the following areas where she skateboarded:

Dimond Park, Bret Harte Middle School, Laurel Elementary, Rockridge BART Station and Montclair Neighborhood
